Where Are All the Mermaids?

I have always loved this story. Seeing myself as the mermaid has helped me in many situations where I felt…well, otherwise, permanently “forgettable.”
But I can’t be the only one out there. So where are all the mermaids?
Maybe they’re pretending to play along, trying to fit in. Maybe they’ve given up. Maybe they’re afraid to stand out.
My phrase for 2019 is “aspire to inspire.” I hope this story, and this short blog post, inspires the other mermaids to make themselves visible and known.
